Houses
The House is the centre of a pupil's life.
Overview of Houses
At Wellington, there are nine houses for boys (for boarders and a limited number of day boarders) and five houses for girls (boarders only). Two houses especially for day pupils (Wellesley and Raglan) opened in September 2007.
Anglesey
The Anglesey is an 'out-of-College' house situated midway between the main College buildings and the Sports Hall and Bigside playing fields.
Apsley
Apsley House was the first girls’ boarding house at Wellington College and has taken girls into the Sixth Form since 1978.
Benson
The Benson sits in its own grounds, and has wonderful facilities.
Beresford
The Beresford has been designed as a spacious, well-appointed and prestigious building in character with others on the Wellington College estate.
Blücher
The Blücher was redeveloped in the first part of 2006 and reopened in September of that year as the first in-college house to have been fully redesigned and refitted.
Combermere
This in-college house is named after Sir Stapleton Cotton, a brilliant general who served under the Duke of Wellington
Hardinge
The Hardinge is unique at Wellington as the only Sixth Form House for boys.
Hill
The Hill is an in-college boys’ boarding house with views over Swan Lake and Front Quad.
Hopetoun
The Hopetoun is a very happy and integrated house, with all years mixing freely and confidently, for its design affords such integration very easily.
Lynedoch
Lynedoch is an in-college house that takes up one floor of the West wing
Murray
The Murray is located right in the very heart of school, close to the library, the dining hall and main teaching blocks.
Orange
The Orange is a vibrant, caring, family-orientated boarding house for 66 girls at the heart of Wellington College.
Picton
The Picton enjoys a central location near classrooms, music school, chapel and Dining Hall.
Raglan
The Raglan is the first day house for boys at Wellington College and an exciting part of the College's current ten year Development Plan.
Stanley
The Stanley is one of Wellington's Out-Houses but is superbly located in the College campus, close to all academic departments and yet slightly removed from the main College.
Talbot
The Talbot is an eclectic and exciting boarding and day house, and Talbotians are renowned for their friendly and welcoming atmosphere, industrious work ethic and dedication to social and personal development.
Wellesley
The Wellesley is a thriving girls day House consisting of 72 pupils who are fully involved at the heart of Wellington College life.
