Teacher in Charge of Chess: John Rawlinson

Chess is currently a rapidly expanding sport at Wellington. The team competes in the Borders League as Crowthorne Juniors and also enters the Sunday Times competition and the British Internet Schools Championship as Wellington College. We also take part in Berkshire schools events and other tournaments. We can currently field three teams and pupils that turn up range from beginners to county level and I am sure soon will include England level.

Chess Practices are every Thursday at 5.00 pm with Andrew Martin who is an International Chess Master and has also published several books /DVDs. Individual training is also available
