Expedition society

The Wellington College Expedition Society gives all students an opportunity to get away from Wellington and experience the outdoors. A variety of trips run over weekends during the school year. Most of these weekends are based on camping a night somewhere and combining that with rock climbing or walking.

As the pupils get more experienced there are other, more ambitious, trips which they can join. The most recent were a three week expedition to the Spiny Forest in SW Madagascar and a fortnight on the Lofoten Islands in the Arctic Circle.

Trips in the past have ranged from the Alps, Pyrenees and North America to Nepal.
