Outdoor Adventure
You may have seen Ray Mears on television roughing it in the great outdoors.
This is the Wellingtonian pupil's opportunity to learn at least a few of the skills: putting up shelters, lighting fires by rubbing sticks together, wild campcraft, cooking food; perhaps even catching food.
Students have to work cooperatively in order to complete the tasks - food must be edible and shelters waterproof. And there's a simple way to find out whether that's true ....
Wellington's grounds are perfect for activities like this - we have 400 acres, and well over 100 of these are mixed or pine wood.
