The College Shop caters for almost everything a student will require whilst he/she is at Wellington and is open every afternoon, except Wednesdays and Sundays during term time. Parents are also welcome in the weekday mornings 9.30 am - 12.30 pm.
During the Summer holidays, the Shop is usually open from 9.00 am - 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm, weekdays only, Parents are advised to contact the shop to make an appointment. We recommend early booking to avoid disappointment.
The shop is organised in three departments:-
- Sports and Clothing Department, including a full range of sports equipment
- A new Second-hand Department
- Self-service General Store, catering for grocery, stationery, toiletries, sweets, soft drinks, ice-cream etc. (Fruit is also available on a regular basis)
- We sell sew-on name tapes, but also offer press-on name tapes service (while you wait)
Payment can be made in three ways:-
- Cash
- Prepaid deposits
- MasterCard/Visa in the Sports/Clothing Department
If you wish to open a deposit account for your son/daughter, please complete the 'Account Authorisation Form' and return it to the shop a week before the beginning of term. Unless we receive it by then, the boy/girl will be unable to use the account immediately he/she arrives. Please note there is a one off charge of £5 for the Account Card.
We recommend that you deposit £50 in the Sports and Clothing Department and £50 in the General Store. The amounts are for guidance only and parents should feel free to deposit more or less as they see fit. Overseas students are requested to deposit a minimum of £100 in the Sports/Clothing Department.
As a precaution, pupils must have the authorisation either of their Housemaster ('Tutor's Order') or their parents to purchase the more expensive items stocked in the Sports and Clothing Department.
Statements on deposit accounts will be rendered to you on a termly basis.
Should you prefer it, your pre-paid deposit account can be paid by MasterCard/Visa. If so, please fill in the College Shop Account Authorisation form in the Returns booklet and please remember that an authorisation to repeat this type of account will be needed every term.
