Reflection is a the heart of learning. Without refflection, education can become just instruction and understanding can become rote-learning.

Learnerprofile.gifThe IB model for education incorporates reflection into everthing that is done.  The Theory of Knowledge course leads the way.  This compulsory part of the core ask students to place themselves as a "knower" in the centre of their learning.  They must question everything: Is what my teacher says true?  Why have my teachers told me that the angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees when they don't.  What does the film "Momento" tell us about the human mind?  Do Effort Grades make us work harder, or just pretend to work harder?  How can we use our knowledge of History in the present day?
