Basketball

Basketball has thrived at Wellington in recent years and is now a very popular sport amongst a significant number of the pupil body. The College fields teams at Under 14, 15, 16 and 19 levels on a regular basis both against other leading schools and has been particularly successful in recent years.

In January we are hosting an Independent Schools tournament where eight of the leading Independent schools in the South East will be competing for a trophy. This 'festival of basketball' is aimed at promoting the sport and attracting new players who would otherwise not think of playing.

Basketball has full use of the Sports Hall three times a week in the Lent (spring) term and there is a professional coach who comes in on a regular basis to assist our own qualified staff.
