CLOTHING LIST FOR GIRLS

Items marked * can only be bought at the College Shop. All other items can be bought at the College Shop or elsewhere.

DETAILED LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR GIRLS

College Dress: Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth

Minimum Number

Pupils to wear their own trouser or skirt suits, which must be plain or light pin stripe in black, grey or  navy-blue.  Skirts must be a minimum of knee length. 2
Blouses/shirts are to be white or a pastel colour; patterns  are allowed, but they must not be garish.  Front buttons must be done up to a respectable level, above the cleavage. 6
 V-neck jerseys may be worn under the suit jacket.  Must be of a "quiet" colour. 2
Shoes are to be black and polishable.  Black fashion boots (up to knee length) may be worn. No canvas shoes, trainers or 'Doc Marten' type footwear. 1 pair
 Tights are to be navy blue, black or flesh-coloured  

College Dress: 3rd, 4th and 5th Forms

Minimum Number

Blazer: black, fitted design. 1
* Skirt:  blue and black tartan design, knee length (see Note 1) 2
* Shirt:  white, mandarin-collared.  6
* Jersey  V-neck, blue, College-crested (optional but strongly recommended)).  2
Shoes:  black polished leather. No canvas shoes,  trainers, boots or 'Doc Marten' type footwear.  1 pair
Tights:  navy-blue or black (see Note 2)
* College Scarf:  (optional).  
 

Note 1
Trousers may be worn instead of a skirt.  These are black with a tartan edge and may only be purchased at the College Shop.

Note 2
Girls in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Forms may wear flesh coloured tights when the College is operating under shirt sleeve order.  They may not be worn at other times.

April to July only: shirt-sleeve order may be worn (i.e. the jersey and jacket may be discarded). Shirts will be tucked in.

 
     

Outerwear

Girls may only wear a navy-blue or black overcoat.  Any other form of outerwear will not be permitted.

Games Clothes

Trainers (1 pair for outdoor use and 1 pair for indoor use) 2

Miscellaneous Sports clothing/equipment

 
  It is expected that any girl representing College in a racket sport will also require:  
  White cycling shorts 1 pair
* White games skirt 1
 * Short-sleeved white shirt with College crest  
 
  For those involved in hockey, the following items will be required (compulsory for all 3rd and 4th Form):
  Astro shoes 1 pair
  Shin pads 1 pair
  Gumshield 1
  Hockey stick 1
   
  For those involved in lacrosse, studded boots will be needed.  
     
  For those involved in athletics, spiked running shoes and athletics vests will be required.  
  Pupils who wear spectacles for games must be provided with toughened lenses.  
  Summer Term items may best be bought in the weeks preceding the Summer Term.  It is very important, therefore, that there are sufficient funds in your child's Grubbies account to cover these necessities at this time of the school year.

Bedding

 
  Each pupil is provided with a duvet.  Duvet covers, sheets and pillowcases are provided by College, but pupils may provide their own duvet covers and pillowcases if they wish.  
     
 

Informal Dress

 
  Informal clothes such as jeans may be worn inside the College grounds at certain times of the afternoon and evening and at weekends.   
     
 

Jewellery

 
  No girl may wear more than one earring or stud in each ear in term time.
Necklaces may be worn, but should be tucked in blouses/shirts.  Pendants should be small and unostentatious.  A single ring may be worn.  Bracelets may not be worn.
