Wellington College TV (WCTV)
TV comes to WC.
Wellington College TV (WTV) is a brand new venture for 2010/2011. This year a group of serious and committed students have been recruited to join Wellington’s pioneering TV crew and through workshops delivered by industry professionals, they will be trained to use video cameras, record sound and edit footage. They will learn the craft of making TV programmes, documentaries and films and the crew will become a permanent feature of college life filming everything going on.
Crews will roam around college interviewing teachers and students in a cameraman, soundman and presenter format. They'll make two minute features of the music school, the art school, the maths block and show them on screens around college. They'll be on the internet. Theatre productions will be filmed and DVDs made and sold. Speech Day, Field Gun and Remembrance Day will be caught on film each year from now on and every aspect of the Wellington Round Square conference will be recorded and made into a DVD (international audience here we come...)
The scope of WTV is massive. It will need vision, drive, patience and probably some money too but the intention is alive and kicking.
This is a project of infinite possibilities. And who knows, whilst tapping into the media, film and digital technology of tomorrow Wellington might uncover the next generation's Steven Spielberg and Fiona Bruce... watch out BBC!
