Wellington College Community Manager

Department: Wellington College Community

We are currently seeking to appoint a driven and engaging Community Manager who will be responsible for assisting the delivery of the Wellington Community annual fundraising/stewardship programme and engaging with the global Wellington Community, which includes many Old Wellingtonian’s (OWs), parents and pupils.

Works and Estates Manager

Department: Works and Estates
Reports to: Works and Estates Bursar
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 dependent on experience
Type of Contract: Permanent Full Time
Days/Hours per week: Monday – Friday – 40 hours per week – 08:00 – 17:00
Weeks per year: 52

We are currently seeking to appoint a highly organised and proficient Works and Estates Manager who will be responsible for the management and development of the immaculate grounds and diverse buildings that comprise Wellington’s 404 acre estate.

Reporting to the Works and Estates Bursar, the Works and Estates Manager will be responsible for all aspects of both hard and soft facilities management throughout the estate, associated budgets, the management of an in-house team and sub-contractors.

The ideal candidate will have an appropriate CIOB or industry standard equivalent qualification, knowledge of technical building discipline and an understanding of all aspects of buildings and estates work. The post holder is expected to act in an ethically responsible manner to develop professional working relationships with staff and contractors.

An excellent work ethic, ability to integrate with the College community and a willingness to uphold the College values is essential.

Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Works and Estates Manager and Senior Trades Foreman
Salary: £24,960 per annum

Weeks per year: 52

We are currently seeking to appoint a reliable and multi-skilled Maintenance Technician. The College has an enviable 400 acre visually attractive estate with immaculate grounds and many charming listed buildings.

The successful candidate will have experience of having worked in the general trade and construction industries and will be responsible for assisting colleagues in the Works Team with general maintenance and repair of the College’s buildings and fabric infrastructures.

An excellent work ethic, flexible approach and the ability to work as part of team and also alone are essential.

There may also be a requirement to conduct overtime and emergency call outs

Gardener

Department: Works and Estates
Reports to: Head Gardener
Salary: £19,500 per annum
Type of Contract: Permanent Full Time
Days/Hours per week: Monday – Friday – 40 hours per week – 07:00-15:45

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Gardener to maintain formal and informal lawns, beds and borders, maintain planting schemes and work on the wider estate including woodland areas and a SSSI. The College has an enviable 400 acre visually attractive estate with immaculate grounds and many charming listed buildings.

Pa1 and Pa6 spraying certificates would be desirable as is a reasonable plant knowledge. Experience of using a wide range of tools and equipment including ride on mowers and compact tractors and an excellent work ethic are essential.

Fun Zone Holiday Club and Children’s Party Staff

Department: Wellington Health and Fitness Club (WCE)
Reports to: Fun Zone Manager
Salary: £7.97 per hour
Type of Contract: Casual – variable hours and days
Start Date: July 2017
Closing Date: 30th April 2017 at 5pm

Wellington Health and Fitness Club require new members to join their team of Fun Zone Holiday Club and Children’s Birthday Party Staff to provide a safe and happy play environment for the children attending events at our Health and Fitness club. Experience of working with children between the ages of 4 – 12 is essential and those with a childcare qualification and /or experience of working with children’s holiday clubs would be preferable.

The successful candidate will need to be available for work during all school holidays and at weekends.

Chef de Partie – Hospitality

Salary: £11.28 per hour (£21,996 per annum)

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated team player to undertake the role of Chef de Partie.

In this busy role, you will be responsible for planning, organising, preparing and cooking food to a 5 star standard throughout the College.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Producing a variety of food menus in different food styles across the day

High level customer service

Maintaining the work area in a clean and tidy manner

Supporting the day to day running of the kitchen and its functions

You must be prepared to take a trade test and possess a NVQ or City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.  Experience of event catering and substantial experience in a similar role is crucial.

Cleaner

We often have cleaning opportunities arise within our busy Domestic Services team, full or part-time, permanent and casual, and would welcome applications from any enthusiastic and motivated individuals. The Domestics Services Department are essential to the smooth running of the College and strive to achieve excellence in its service provision.

The role will involve the cleaning of various areas of the College site, including classrooms and boarding houses, to a high standard.

Strong team working skills and the ability to be adaptable are essential for this role.
