Art Technician

Department: Art
Reports to: Head of Art
Salary: £15.50 per hour
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours per week: 44 per week, to include weekend working
Weeks per year: 35 weeks per year

We are seeking to appoint an Art Technician to provide support to the Art Department teaching staff and work alongside their fellow technicians to ensure the efficient running of the Art School’s day-to-day programme of extra-curricular activities, enrichment workshops and timetabled lessons.

The ideal candidate will have a detailed knowledge and experience of Art, ideally with a related qualification in the area. Specialist knowledge and experience of textiles and screen-printing would be an advantage.

Wellington College is a full boarding school with lessons taking place on a Saturday morning and pupils working within the Art School on a Sunday afternoon. This role will include working on rotation with our other two technicians covering the Art School every Saturday morning up until 1pm on rotation and every Sunday afternoon 2pm – 6pm again on rotation with the current technicians. Weekly working hours are set at 9 hours a day including an hour lunch break. Start and finishing times Monday – Friday again will be on rotation with our two current technicians and will vary from 8am, 9am, 10am start to 5pm, 6pm and 7pm finish.

College Events Administrator

Department: College Events
Reports to: College Events Manager
Salary: £11 – £13 per hour, depending on experience
Type of Contract: Term-time Permanent
Hours per week: 35
Weeks per year: 39 (term-time plus)
Closing Date: 30th June 2017 at 5pm

We are currently seeking to appoint a College Events Administrator who will be responsible for the booking of all College venues, functions and facilities on the events booking software, Kinetics (Kx). The Administrator will also take responsibility for the creation, update and administration of all event booking and box office ticketing software.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and strong problem solving skills, with experience of database or online software packages and be able to work in a high quality, fast paced environment. The role is office based with the opportunity to be involved in ‘on the day’ support for a diverse range of events, including large scale public and internal College events.

The successful candidate will be required to start work from Wednesday 23rd August 2017.

College Events Assistant

Reports to: College Events Manager
Salary: £24,000 per annum
Type of Contract: Permanent Full-time
Hours per week: 35 (plus occasional extra hours and weekend working)

We are currently seeking to appoint a College Events Assistant to support the College Events Manager to ensure the smooth running of the busy internal College Events programme. Key responsibilities will involve the administration of venue and facility booking, managing small scale operational event logistics and providing ‘on the day’ event support when required.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and client facing skills and be able to work in a high quality, fast paced environment. The role is predominantly office based and admin led whilst also providing the opportunity to be actively involved with the coordination of a diverse range of events, including large scale public events, College dinners, sports tournaments and lectures.

Security Officer

Health Centre Nursing Sister – Casual

Department: Health Centre
Reports to: Sister in Charge
Salary: £14.50 per hour (basic rate)
Type of contract: Casual
Hours per week: Variable
Weeks per year: 33 (term-time only)

We are often seeking experienced, enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our College Health Centre team as bank nurses.

The post holder will be required to deliver high quality nursing care to pupils and staff and display a keen interest in adolescent health and wellbeing. The ability to work as part of a team, as well as autonomously is essential, as are excellent communication skills.

We welcome applications from experienced Registered General Nurses. In addition, experience in Paediatric Nursing, A &E, Practice Nursing or School Nursing is considered desirable.

Our busy Health Centre is open 24/7, for 33 weeks of the year. Whilst we are currently seeking nurses to join our bank of casual staff, permanent hours often become available.

When working overnight, a bedroom is available within the Health Centre for the nurse to both sleep and to be available to see pupils who are unwell at night.

General Catering Assistants

We often have opportunities arise within our busy and vibrant Catering team, full or part-time, permanent and casual, and would welcome applications from any enthusiastic and motivated individuals.

The role will involve the preparation of counters throughout the day, the service of prepared foods as per agreed times and assisting with the cleaning of service areas and work within the bustling plate room, or vibrant in-house V&A Café, where required.

Chef de Partie – Hospitality

We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated team player to undertake the role of Chef de Partie.

In this busy role, you will be responsible for planning, organising, preparing and cooking food to a 5 star standard throughout the College.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Producing a variety of food menus in different food styles across the day

High level customer service

Maintaining the work area in a clean and tidy manner

Supporting the day to day running of the kitchen and its functions

You must be prepared to take a trade test and possess a NVQ or City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent.  Experience of event catering and substantial experience in a similar role is crucial.

Cleaner

We often have cleaning opportunities arise within our busy Domestic Services team, full or part-time, permanent and casual, and would welcome applications from any enthusiastic and motivated individuals. The Domestics Services Department are essential to the smooth running of the College and strive to achieve excellence in its service provision.

The role will involve the cleaning of various areas of the College site, including classrooms and boarding houses, to a high standard.

Strong team working skills and the ability to be adaptable are essential for this role.
