Widening access to Wellington is at the heart of the Governors' and Master's vision for the future of the College.

Widening opportunities at Wellington for families who otherwise would not be able to afford the fees at the College is a significant priority for us.

Bursaries are therefore available if parents can demonstrate, through a means-test, that they would not otherwise be able to send their child to Wellington College. The value of means-tested bursaries may be up to 95% of school fees dependent on family circumstances. Any family wishing to make a bursary application will be invited to apply as part of the broader admissions process and more details can be found in the Bursaries, Scholarships and Inspire Days booklet for 13+, or the Scholarships, Exhibitions and Bursaries booklet for 16+. Bursary awards are not linked to scholarships.

We do not have an unlimited pot of funds for bursaries and so bursaries will be rationed based on candidates’ merits as identified through the admissions process.  Families must therefore understand that, even if their need for a bursary is substantial, we may not be able to award one even if they have an offer of a place.

If a family wishes to apply for a means-tested bursary, they should contact the Bursar’s Office to request the specific bursary forms which must be returned before a bursary can be considered. The Bursar’s PA, Mrs Lisa Thompson, can be contacted at ljt@wellingtoncollege.org.uk or 01344 444 020.

Two other specific bursary funds exist: please visit the pages on Foundationers and the Prince Albert Foundation for further details.
