Course Overview

The Mental Health First Aid (Youth) courses focuses on mental health and wellbeing in children aged 8-18 and attendees will learn about some of the issues faced by young people today, and how to support young people and know when to signpost them to appropriate services.

Learning on this 2 day course will take place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.

Topics Covered & Outcomes

  • An in-depth understanding of young people’s mental health and the factors that affect their well being.
  • Ability to spot the triggers and signs of mental illness.
  • Confidence to reassure and support a young person in distress.
  • Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
  • Knowledge to help a young person improve their mental health by guiding them to further support.
  • Tools to look after your own mental wellbeing.

Cost & Payment

The course costs £460 but for WCTA Member Schools and Wellington College staff this is discounted to £70.

The cost includes lunch and refreshments.

We kindly ask that payment is made in full by card at the end of the booking. We can also take payment by cheque, and an administration fee of £5 will apply.
