In October 2016, 25 Wellingtonians travelled to Chicago, Boston and New York to visit a range of US universities. From stunning Northwestern on the banks of Lake Michigan, through the quintessential Ivy at Harvard to the hustle and bustle of NYU in the heart of Manhattan, the students immersed themselves in the US college experience.

Presentations were given by International Admissions tutors, guided tours were hosted by current undergraduates, and we even had the chance for Q&A with some Old Wellingtonians who had made the successful transition to US Colleges from the UK. This fantastic and educationally inspiring trip gave students a real insight into life as a US College student and also the requirements for entry into such establishments.

All Wellingtonians showed exemplary behaviour throughout the trip and were a credit to the College. They demonstrated a real passion for the universities which were visited, engaged well with university staff, and asked fantastic questions related to their desires and motivations for study in the US. All in all, the trip was a great triumph and we hope it will lead to many successful US university applications.
