Five Wellington College students represented the school with distinction at the Oxford Global Model United Nations Conference this weekend, held at the historic Examination Schools at Oxford University. As the largest MUN conference in the UK, Oxford Global welcomed more than 850 students from around the world for three days of intense debate, diplomacy and global collaboration.

This year’s conference centred around the theme “Spirit of Inquiry.” At its core, diplomacy is fuelled by curiosity, the drive to question, to think critically, and to engage in open dialogue. The conference challenged delegates to embrace curiosity as the heartbeat of diplomacy: to dig deeper, ask bold questions, and approach every issue with an open mind and a genuine desire to learn. Throughout the weekend, these values were woven into committee debates, shaping fresh perspectives and fostering meaningful solutions to complex international issues.

Across more than 13 hours of rigorous committee sessions, Wellington’s delegates rose exceptionally to the challenge. Sasha S and Daniel E both earned an Outstanding Honourable Mention in a committee of more than 300 delegates, an extraordinary achievement, particularly at their first-ever MUN. Rehaan V continued this success with an Honourable Mention in the EcoFin Committee, also at his debut conference.

Their accomplishments were supported by the expertise and mentorship of Senior Delegates Franklin C and Clark C, whose guidance proved invaluable throughout the event.

This was a brilliant showing from our Fourth and Fifth Form students, who held their own and excelled against predominantly Sixth Form competitors. We are exceptionally proud of their curiosity and commitment to global thinking.

A huge congratulations to all involved for embodying the true spirit of inquiry and representing Wellington College with such intelligence and confidence.
