Visiting Wellington

In the new academic year, we will be offering prospective pupils and parents the opportunity to visit the College, and experience the atmosphere and beauty of Wellington, in person.

The Admissions Department is always delighted to welcome visitors and prospective parents to the College – although this has been rather challenging recently!

Starting in September, we will endeavour to provide as many opportunities as possible for families to visit Wellington during the Michaelmas Term. We are planning to hold two Visitors Days, together with a number of Master’s Receptions, as well as College Tours with one of our pupil College Ambassadors.

Visitors Days

Visitors Days are the most popular way of visiting Wellington. These events take place on Saturday mornings and provide an easy and effective way of conducting a first visit to the College. After refreshments in Great School, the Master addresses visitors in our magnificent theatre with help from a pupil panel and senior staff. There is then an opportunity to tour the campus with a current pupil before lunch is served in the Dining Hall.  Although timings are provisional at present, we expect the event to begin at 10.30am with an optional lunch served at 1.00pm.

Master’s Receptions

Master’s Receptions are ideal for families who would like to meet the Master, James Dahl, in person and perhaps ask him some questions.  These are smaller events for 25 to 30 families, organised on Saturday mornings and Tuesday afternoons. After an address by the Master and Director of Admissions, an informal Q&A is followed by a tour of the campus. Senior staff and pupils are on hand to answer questions.

College Tours

College Tours are aimed at families who simply want a tour of Wellington and may have a few questions.  A member of the Admissions team will be available to answer questions after the tour with one of our College Ambassadors (a current pupil).

If you would like to register for a Visitors Day, please select your preferred date below:

Visitors Day registration: Saturday 9th October

The dates for the Master’s Receptions and College Tours will be finalised at the start of the Michaelmas Term and we will contact you via email in September when links to the booking forms are released. To register your interest for a Master’s Reception or College Tour, please click here.

Similar opportunities will be available to visitors in the Lent Term and dates for these events will be published when arrangements have been finalised.

In the meantime, we hope that the videos and images on the website will give a good indication of the atmosphere of the College. Please click here to be directed to our virtual tour.
