Wellington College is thrilled to celebrate an exceptional year of success for our Drama School applicants. Every pupil who auditioned has received an offer from one of the UK’s premier drama institutions. This achievement reflects not only their talent but also the passion for drama and performance they’ve developed throughout their Wellington journey.

Director of Drama, Nick Huntington, shared:
“I couldn’t be prouder of our Upper Sixth drama applicants this year. Each of them has earned a place at one of the UK’s top drama schools—a testament to their extraordinary talent, discipline and determination. From preparing and rehearsing repertoire pieces, to recording and submitting self-tapes, and facing the nerve-wracking challenge of in-person recalls, they have shown outstanding resilience at every stage. It’s a joy to see their hard work rewarded so richly.”
Our Drama Department isn’t just about performance, it’s about inspiring a lifelong love of drama, building confidence, emotional intelligence, collaboration and creative vision. Pupils benefit from Theatre Masterclasses with industry professionals, DramaSOCs, LAMDA lessons, recalled Q&A sessions known as ‘The Limelight’, and trips including an Edinburgh Fringe entry. Our thriving LAMDA programme, led by a dedicated team, empowers pupils to excel in communication and performance, often reaching Grade 8, enhanced by termly showcases like ‘PIPs’. Drama scholars serve as ambassadors across productions, workshops and mentoring for younger pupils, embedding leadership and responsibility in our co-curricular offering.
This year’s achievements are not only a celebration of individual brilliance, but also of the Drama Department’s philosophy of inclusivity, high-level provision, and constant hotbed of creative activity.
Huge congratulations! We look forward to following the journeys of our newest alumni as they begin their next chapter in the world of drama and beyond.
