We are looking forward to welcoming U6th parents and pupils to the Eve of Speech Day Concert. Bring a picnic chair or rug and come and listen to some light music provided by Wellington College’s Concert Band and Jazz Orchestra, right in the heart of the College. There will be a card only bar and College will provide a light finger buffet for parents to enjoy (pupils will have their normal supper).

The event is for Upper 6th pupils and their parents, as well as parents of performers.

Whilst at the event, we invite you to join the Art and DET Departments in celebrating a wide variety of pupil work from the past year. Visit the Art, Photography & Textiles Exhibition on Eve of Speech Day for a private viewing (18.00-19.00 Staff & Pupils or 19.00-21.00 Parents, Staff and Pupils).

Inclusivity

  • Access to the Event: Access to Combermere Quad is via level hard-standing, there is a permanent ramp into Combermere Quad next to the Chapel and a lift into Dining Hall is accessible via Selangor Court. In Combermere Quad there are three raised grassed areas with a path around each of them.
  • Access to the Art & DET Exhibitions: DET is level access throughout, the Art School is across two levels with the top level accessible via the main door and the lower level accessible via the rear door. The rear door can only be accessed from behind the Physics block. We are afraid there is no internal lift.
  • Seating: The event is picnic style, and parents are asked to bring their own picnic blankets and chairs should they wish to. There is space for wheelchairs/scooters, and we can also provide a seat for anyone who requires it. We ask at point of booking if you have any preferences and will make any required additional arrangements according to your needs.
  • Toilets:
    – Dining Hall: An accessible toilet is located to the right as you enter Dining Hall via the lift from Selangor Court.
    – Penny Quad: An accessible toilet is located through Front Quad (where security and reception are based). It is level hard-standing throughout, other than the ramp down from Combermere Quad.
  • Parking: As standard, accessible parking is provided in all our main car parks. So that we can reserve your preferred option, please advise of any parking requirements you have on the booking.
  • Access around Site: The event happens close to our main North Front car park and is level hard-standing throughout other than the ramp into Combermere Quad and lift to Dining Hall, but we will have the events golf buggy on hand should any of our guests require assistance getting to the concert location.
