Wellington’s first Duke’s Games took place over the last two weeks of Lent Term.
The concept was announced in assembly on 14 March by Alice and Freddie who organised the event with help from the Lower Sixth Committee leaders.
The event included the whole school and, through a process of four games testing different skills, contestants either proceeded through to the next round or were eliminated.

The first game was ‘House Cluedo’ called ‘The Death of the Duke’, the second game was ‘Capture the Duke’, both games requiring contestants to capture the flag. The third game, creatively called ‘The Duke’s Mind’ was a quiz and the final was called ‘Be The Duke’, an adapted game of tag.
Alongside these games, three eggs were hidden around the College accompanied by cryptic clues; these eggs when found provided a wildcard to the final. Eggs were also won through a raffle which raised £500 for the UNHCR charity appeal for Ukraine.
