Amidst stiff competition, a team of four Wellington pupils has clinched a coveted spot in the final of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Budget Challenge. Saffron E, Kiana M, James A, and Leo S showcased their economic knowledge at the semi-finals held at the University of Buckingham. Facing off against top contenders from other schools, they presented their budget proposal for the UK government, navigating complex economic terrain with finesse.

The IEA Budget Challenge, known for its rigorous evaluation of macroeconomic understanding and fiscal policy expertise, drew teams from across the country to present their solutions for the nation’s financial future. Our team not only delivered a compelling presentation but also demonstrated exceptional proficiency in handling probing questions from the judges.

Their success at the semi-finals earned them a place in the final round, scheduled to take place during the Easter holidays. Congratulations, and we wish you all the best for the final!
