On Thursday 22nd February, Wellington College welcomed nearly 300 pupils to the GWA for a singing day with Alexander L’Estrange, one of the UK’s most prominent composers and animateurs of choral music. Pupils were able to develop their singing technique, exploring a range of styles and contexts including gospel, folk and jazz. The day culminated with a showcase of these pieces to parents and supporters, together with a performance of Zadok Rules, Hallelujah! – a witty and whistle-stop tribute to kings and queens, royal music through the ages, and the works of G. F. Handel.
