Friday saw Wellington College come together for another memorable Interhouse Athletics event, with students competing across a wide range of track and field disciplines in a celebration of athleticism, determination and house spirit.

Throughout the day, students represented their Houses with pride in events including the 100m sprint, 600m and 800m races, relays, shot putt, long jump, high jump and tyre flipping, creating an electric atmosphere around the track and field areas.

The competition was fierce across all four categories, with impressive performances and outstanding teamwork on display from start to finish.

Junior Girls

In the Junior Girls competition, Hopetoun claimed first place with 55 points, narrowly ahead of Anglesey in second on 45 points, while Orange secured third with 44.5 points.

Senior Girls

The Senior Girls competition saw Combermere emerge victorious with a superb total of 66 points. Elizabeth finished second on 56.5 points, with Orange taking third place on 50 points.

Junior Boys

There were some exceptional performances in the Junior Boys events, with Picton finishing top of the standings on 62.5 points. Raglan followed closely in second with 58.5 points, while Benson secured third with 50 points.

Senior Boys

The Senior Boys competition produced a thrilling contest, with Benson taking first place on 68.5 points, just ahead of Picton on 68 points. Beresford completed the top three with 63 points.

Interhouse Athletics continues to be one of the highlights of the Wellington calendar, showcasing not only sporting excellence but also the camaraderie and enthusiasm that define the College community.
