The Chemistry Olympiad is an annual event that challenges the knowledge of 12,000 students. It tests their understanding of Upper Sixth level material in a variety of intriguing scenarios. This year’s exam featured questions on the concentration of CO2 in cheese, Rocket Fuels, and the crystal structures of Boron Nitrides.
We are thrilled to announce that three Wellingtonians, Rain T, Eric Q, and Alvin W, received the prestigious Gold award, given only to the top 9% of participants in the country. Even more remarkably, two of the three students are still in Lower Sixth, demonstrating not only their academic maturity, but also their exceptional chemistry skills and knowledge.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Rain, Eric, and Alvin on their outstanding achievement, which is a testament to their dedication and hard work. The Chemistry Olympiad provides an excellent opportunity for students to challenge themselves and showcase their talents, and we look forward to seeing more brilliant minds participate in future competitions.
