Girls achieving places as US Universities for Hockey (inclu Harvard, Yale, Standford, Princeton) since 2017

The hockey programme aims to be full of excitement and enjoyment for all players. We hope that we can facilitate our pupils to flourish both individually and collectively. We have two brilliant AstroTurf pitches with another on the way, as well as an Indoor sports hall. Our coaching staff contains past and current international players and coaches who are heavily involved in England Hockey talent system. We have established ourselves as one of the premier co-educational hockey schools in the country. Hockey is available for all players across all three terms with a focus on all areas being technical, tactical, physical and psycholgoical support.

We regularly competing in the later stages of National Competitions. However, we also take pride in ensuring that we provide an excellent hockey experience from all players across all teams, from U14D all the way through to 1st XI. Our strength and depth across teams is really important to us. For those players with elite hockey aspirations, we offer individual mentorship and coaching to help an individual strive towards their aspirations. We have excellent club links with Surbiton and Reading Hockey club, two of the best clubs in the country. We help to provide transport mid-week to these hockey clubs and have a strong link with their Talent Academy programmes. This collaboration enhances our school programme and provides students with an experience likely to encourage them to continue playing hockey beyond their time at Wellington.

We aim to combine top academics with high level sport with a number of recent leavers playing in the Oxbirdge Varsity hockey match. We also have connections with a number of US universities and have had great success in helping players achieve scholarships to Ivy League and other top US universities with their hockey.

The boys put in a fantastic performance last week against last year's national champions. It was a gritty performance in defence epitomised by the tackling of Wilbur (Pn) and Raffi (L). In attack the players produced tempo and fluidity that led to a Mofe (S) hattrick.

Well done to this week's Team of the week, the Girls U14C Hockey team, who had a sensational win after only one session of practice, but achieved a commanding 4-0 win! The girls came together with impeccable teamwork and with 12 players, most pushed through a whole game.
