The Heads of College Conference has become a cherished tradition in our school calendar, inspiring future leaders for 19 years. This annual event unites Head Boys and Head Girls from across the country and beyond, providing a unique platform for them to connect, share experiences, and develop their leadership skills. The conference aims to nurture and empower student leaders with the tools and insights they need to succeed in their roles.

This year’s conference, held on 11th October, welcomed nearly 100 head students from locations as distant as Paris and Aberdeen. Centred around the theme “Choose to Lead”, the event was expertly organised by our Heads of College, offering students a day filled with opportunities for learning, reflection and growth.

Keynote speakers provided the day’s inspiration, beginning with Daniela Mohaupt’s powerful presentation on educating Afghan girls. Her talk emphasised that leadership is about creating a better world and highlighted the importance of adaptability and vision when navigating complex situations. Paralympic cyclists Lizzi Jordan and Dani Khan also shared their journeys, offering lessons in resilience, teamwork and determination, reminding students of the power of persistence and effective communication.

In addition to the speeches, prefects led breakout sessions, where attendees took part in interactive leadership exercises and exchanged ideas with peers from other schools. These sessions allowed for valuable networking, collaboration, and learning, fostering connections that could last well beyond the conference.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the attendees, speakers and organisers for making this year’s Heads of College Conference such a resounding success. As we look forward to next year’s milestone event—the 20th edition—we are excited to continue fostering the leadership potential of students and celebrating the profound impact these conferences have on future generations of leaders.
