Wellington College is delighted to celebrate the artistic achievement of Fifth Form pupil Ariel G, who recently won Gold in the UWEE International Art Exhibition & Carrousel du Louvre, held at the iconic Louvre in Paris.
Ariel’s artwork explores themes of time, memory, and emotion through delicate brushstrokes and thoughtful composition. The exhibition provided a platform for young artists to showcase their talent and engage in cross-cultural exchange.
Ariel’s piece, “Sharing a Journey Through the Test of Time,” takes inspiration from The Little Prince and reflects on how creativity evolves over time. The artwork features intertwining roots and flower petals, symbolising emotional connections, along with a spinning wheel and clock representing personal growth. A small snake from The Little Prince, gripped by a crutch, illustrates how creativity can become constrained with age. The fading fox in the background further emphasises memory and protection, while blue blocks separate different parts of the composition, highlighting distinct yet interconnected worlds.
Well done, Ariel, not many people can say they have had their artwork displayed in the Louvre at just 15 years old!
We look forward to seeing more of your incredible work in the future.
