On Friday evening the members of Camerata,  Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra took part in the Concerto Orchestral Concert which was once again, a total triumph! There was a huge variety in the programme, and a vast array of talent on display.

Camerata, conducted by Sarah Durrant, opened the concert and Nicholas, Sarah and Momo, our soloists in the Vivaldi, all played wonderfully, as did Elena and Natalie in the Bach. The Bruno Mars was great fun too, and added a lovely contrast!

The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Ant Bailey, followed with The Dvořák Wind Serenade which worked a treat, everyone really went for it with great gusto -with the horns in particular deserving a mention here.

Gabriella opened the second half of the concert with a solo played superbly well, with great control, in the Vaughan Williams Suite for Viola, supported very well by the orchestra conducted by Simon Williamson.  Linda then performed the Mozart concerto with great detail, style and energy, and the orchestra stepped it up another level. Finally, the whole Symphony Orchestra finished the concert off with a fabulous rendition of the Shostakovich. The brass in particular, sounded epic, and the saxophone section added a great extra dimension!

Well done to all the performers who put in such a lot of work to prepare for the concert. We are looking forward to another music concert this Friday, the popular Jazz Concert!
