Darcy Receives 2016 Higgins Youth Girls U16 Award

On the 25^th January, Darcy Bourne was awarded the 2016 Higgins Youth Girls U16 Award by the Hockey Writers’ Club at the Royal Thames Yacht Club in London. Previous winners of this prestigious award have gone on to represent GB at recent Olympic Games. Darcy was a member of Wellington’s U14 National Schools’ Championship winning team last year and will play in the Wellington U16 side in the National Finals later this term. She currently represents Surbiton Ladies 2^nd XI and has recently been included in the 1^st XI squad which play in the Premier League. This award is in recognition of Darcy’s undoubted skill and ability but also her outstanding attitude, willingness to learn, determination and teamwork.
