Come and join this fun and informal virtual group to discuss the chosen book with our wonderful head librarian, Lucy Atherton, and fellow members of the Wellington Community. Remember your glass of wine and nibbles!

The group chose to read and discuss two Booker Prize selected titles for the November meeting:

Ann Tyler’s latest novel ‘The redhead by the side of the road’ ( a short novel, longlisted for the prize, beautifully written and observed ‘A master at chronicling the lives of ordinary people uncovers universal truths in a novel about a computer repair man’

Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart (a debut novel which has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize and is described as ‘Laying bare the ruthlessness of poverty, the limits of love, and the hollowness of pride, Shuggie Bain is a blistering and heart breaking debut, and an exploration of the unsinkable love that only children can have for their damaged parents.’

Don’t feel you have to read both books for the next meeting – come along and discuss one or the other or both! You are also welcome to suggest books for the December meeting.
