We enjoyed another successful Prep Schools Festival of Netball on Wednesday 25 January, with 14 teams participating! Matches were played across 5 courts in a round robin format giving each team plenty of time on court.
Head of Netball Amy Flanagan commented:
“It’s a privilege to host so many wonderful schools, and the enthusiasm shown during the day validates why organising the festival is so important to us. We hope to continue to grow the event in years to come.”
“Sport is such an integral part of prep school and Wellington life. The power which sport has to transform the lives and character of young people is huge. Sport teaches us how to lose well, how to win with humility, how there are no short-cuts to success, how to be an individual whilst also contributing to a team, how to lead and be led, how to bounce back from adversity, how to respect authority yet move on when a perceived injustice has occurred. The list goes on but, at its core, sport teaches us about life and about how to live well.”
