Wellington College’s Rackets players enjoyed a record-breaking week at Queen’s Club, delivering an exceptional set of performances just before the end of term.

Leading the way was Lower Sixth student Georgia T, who secured the prestigious Judy Angus Cup for senior girls’ singles. This remarkable achievement marks only the third time Wellington has won the title, making Georgia’s triumph all the more significant—particularly as she accomplished it in the Lower Sixth.

It was nearly an all-Wellington final, with Charlie T narrowly missing out after a closely fought 2–3 semi-final against an opponent from Cheltenham College. Georgia’s latest success adds to an already outstanding season, having also claimed the National Doubles Championship earlier this year alongside Georgia H.

In the U16 competition, Alayna H reached the final, while Tabs B progressed to the semi-finals. Both students delivered outstanding performances and, notably, still have another year remaining in this age category.

Zaara N also impressed in the senior competition, reaching the semi-finals of the RPA Cup. She was narrowly defeated 1–2 by the eventual winner in a highly competitive match.

In the boys’ events, Daniyal S and Carlo D A produced a superb run to the U15 doubles final. Their journey included a dramatic 3–2 victory over Eton College, showcasing both resilience and skill across a demanding week of matches.

Will F and Lachie M also performed strongly, reaching the semi-finals of the U16 doubles before losing to eventual winners St Paul’s School.

Across the tournament, Wellington had nine students competing in semi-finals across five different events, a record achievement and a clear reflection of the depth of talent within the programme.

A huge congratulations to all the players. The future looks exceptionally bright for Rackets at Wellington College.
