If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumbered here
While these visions did appear.

We were so excited to be able to hold a live performance of Shakespeare in the Master’s Garden on the Thursday before half term. The select audience of Year 9 parents, plus many more watching the live stream, were treated to performances from some of Shakespeare’s best-known plays, as well as scenes from other classic writers.  Hal opened the evening as Benvolio from Romeo and Juliet, and amongst the other highlights was Maddie as a simmering Macbeth, whilst Baxter delighted as Launce from The Two Gentlemen of Verona arguing with his (toy) dog!  The final scene from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed by Year 9 students added more laughter to the evening.

The weather held, the garden looked beautiful, and the acting was superb – all in all a wonderful way to celebrate the return of live performance!
