The Welly Leaders team recently hosted a fun and meaningful event, the Students vs Teachers Welly Olympics, with the aim of promoting awareness about the Malala Fund. The event was organised by the Welly Leaders team: Sofia S, Sienna T, Liberty H, Anda L, Melissa C, Talitha G and Imogen R, who were all passionate about supporting this important cause.

The Malala Fund is a global organisation that advocates for girls’ education and empowers young girls to achieve their dreams, regardless of their background or where they live.

On the day of the event, the student team, consisting of Dan, Georgia, Barney, and Jazzy, faced off in a series of fun and engaging challenges against teachers from various departments, including Mr Rothwell, Miss Williams, Miss Willis Phillis, Mr Hubert, Miss Oliver, Miss Jaoui, Miss Gomez, Mrs Biggs, Mr Wells, Mr Rigby, Mr Wyndham, and Mrs Hepworth-Wain.

After an afternoon filled with laughter and friendly competition, the student team emerged victorious, securing the win in the spirit of good-natured rivalry. The event was a great success, drawing large crowds from across the school. Not only did it raise awareness about the Malala Fund and its mission, but it also provided an opportunity for students and staff to come together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, sharing ice creams and creating lasting memories while supporting a cause that truly makes a difference in the lives of young girls worldwide.
