The Wellington College 1st XI enjoyed an excellent start to the season, with Jacob P, J.J. M, Nate M (Captain), Charlie M-H, Stefan B, Luka F, Ben S, Ronit T, Joe T, Jasper H, Carter D and Sasha V winning the inaugural CISL 8v8 football tournament, hosted by Abingdon School.

The tournament took place at Tilsley Park and brought together a number of leading independent schools from across the Central Independent Schools League. The fast-paced, small-sided format placed a strong emphasis on technical quality, decision-making and intensity, providing a demanding and competitive environment.

Wellington College’s players responded impressively, delivering composed and disciplined performances throughout the afternoon. The squad were praised for their attitude, work rate and cohesion, building positively on the foundations laid last term as the main football season gets underway.

Their consistent application and teamwork were rewarded as Wellington College went on to win the 1st team competition, marking a fitting outcome to a strong all-round display.
