We are thrilled to announce that Wellington College’s Junior Colts have triumphed once again at the Langley National Rugby Festival, securing the prestigious title for the third time in just four years! Demonstrating resilience, skill, and a remarkable team spirit, our players conceded only 5 points across six fiercely contested matches, showcasing an outstanding defensive performance throughout the weekend.
The Langley National Rugby Festival, held annually at Langley School in Norfolk, brought together 15 of the country’s strongest U15 teams. This year, our Junior Colts entered the tournament as reigning champions, having previously claimed the title in both 2021 and 2023. Facing stiff competition, including 2022 champions Hurstpierpoint College and past titleholders Brighton College, Wellington College’s team rose to the occasion, excelling under pressure and demonstrating why they are a force in U15 rugby.
The tournament structure placed teams into pools, with each side playing multiple matches over two days, making for a rigorous and demanding competition. Despite the intensity, our Junior Colts remained focused. Their ability to maintain consistency and composure in each game, even under challenging conditions, is a testament to their preparation.
