Health Centre

The Health Centre is staffed 24 hours a day by a team of 10 nurses, all of whom are whole-heartedly committed to the well-being and health of every individual member of the Wellington Community.

Located near the sports facilities and adjacent the Apsley, the Wellington College Health Centre has 9 bedrooms, full day facilities and is staffed 24/7 by a wonderful team of committed nurses. Male and female pupils are nursed in separate areas and there is also a clinical isolation bedroom for use if required.

Nurses

The Health Centre staff are trained to deal with both illnesses and injuries which may occur to pupils, staff or visitors on site. Many of the nurses have specialist training so the Health Centre can offer asthma clinics, travel and vaccination advice, diabetes monitoring, sexual health and smoking cessation advice, as well as many other services.

A physiotherapist attends the Health Centre every weekday. This service is run under private contract but is covered by the school BUPA scheme and most private insurers. There is also a sports massage therapist who runs a weekly clinic and a chiropodist who operates on an occasional basis.

Sports Massage

The Health Centre serves both day and boarding pupils, and works in partnership with Ringmead Medical Practice, Bracknell. Doctors hold morning surgeries from 7.30am to 9.00am, Monday to Friday and the College Medical Officer, Dr Anant Sachdev, oversees clinical practice in the Health Centre.

The College also employs counsellors who are particularly experienced at working with teenagers.
