Wellington College’s U19 side once again demonstrated their quality on the national stage, competing at the National Schools Finals on Saturday and extending an exceptional run of appearances.
Reaching the Finals for the fifth consecutive year is a remarkable achievement and reflects the strength, consistency and ambition within the programme.
The team entered their final pool match against Gordons knowing that a win would secure a place in the semi-finals. In a competitive and hard-fought contest, Wellington showed great determination, but narrowly missed out on qualification, finishing 6th overall.
This campaign represents another chapter in an impressive period of sustained success. The players’ dedication, teamwork and resilience have been evident throughout the season.
To compete at this level year after year is an achievement in itself and one that this group should look back on with real pride.
