Wellington College’s young golfers enjoyed a remarkable day at the National Strokeplay Finals, with the U15 team crowned National Champions following an outstanding performance across the championship.

Held at The Springs Golf Club and organised by SWIFTS Golf, the competition brought together some of the strongest school golf programmes from across the country. Wellington rose to the occasion in impressive fashion, securing the U15 Team National Title after a brilliant collective effort throughout the event.

The team success was complemented by a number of strong individual performances from Wellington players.

Seb D produced a superb display to win the Boys U15 National Title, finishing an exceptional five-under-par across the 36-hole championship. His composed and consistent performance across both rounds saw him emerge as national champion against a highly competitive field.

In the girls’ competition, Anna L delivered a fantastic final-round performance to claim the Girls U15 National Title, finishing the championship at +15 over two rounds.

Wellington’s strength in depth was also evident in the Girls Individual standings, where the College secured all three podium places, Anna L, Emily-May C and Olive K.

Adding to an extraordinary week for Wellington golf, Emily-May C was also crowned the SSGT U15 Girls Order of Merit Champion following consistently outstanding performances throughout the season. Her results have earned qualification for the prestigious Faldo Series Finals.

The championship success is the culmination of months of dedication, training and teamwork from this talented group of golfers, and further highlights the strength of Wellington’s golf programme.

Speaking after the event, team captain River reflected on the significance of the achievement.

Wellington College would also like to thank SWIFTS Golf for organising the season and The Springs Golf Club for hosting the National Strokeplay Finals.

With national titles, individual champions and season-long honours all secured, the future of Wellington golf is certainly in safe hands.
