It was with immense sadness that the Wellington Community learned of the death of Lower Sixth Former, Charlie Perry, on Tuesday 7th November following a short battle with urea cycle disorder.

Charlie had been a day-boy in the Stanley House, having joined the Third Form in 2014 from Eagle House School, and during his three years at the College he had been a truly wonderful Wellingtonian: a bright and happy young man who was a ray of sunshine to so many around him; unfailingly kind and positive in his relationships with all; and a true individual who knew that the path to genuine happiness lay in being true to himself.

There was barely an area of College life in which Charlie had not involved himself during his time at Wellington – musicals, plays, choir, sports teams – his effect on those around him was profound and the fact that so many pupils and staff attended Chapel the day after his death to mourn his passing and celebrate his life bore witness to the amazing impact which this wonderful young man had on the school.

Charlie’s parents, Andrew and Rosie, and his siblings, Poppy and Ollie, are in the thoughts of the entire Wellington Community, and we pray that their deep faith will sustain and nourish them in the weeks and months ahead.

We miss you Charlie.
