It’s been another bumper year for Wellington College’s Sixth Form students who have secured outstanding results in their public exams. Today’s A-level results added significantly to the successes enjoyed by the IB candidates earlier in the summer, who finished with an overall average points score of 39.1, with over half the cohort of 123 students securing scores of 40+. Adding in today’s A-level results, the headline figures, combining the results of all 240 students, make pleasing reading:
- A* / 7 30.4%
- A*A / 76 68.1%
- A*AB / 765 91.4%
Three of the IB students scored a perfect 45 points, with 14 achieving a clean sweep of 7s in their Higher Level subjects. Over 34% of the A-level cohort secured at least three A grades, with nine students scoring a remarkable four A* grades. All Oxbridge and elite US university offers have been met.
Wellington’s Master, James Dahl had this to say: “These results, once again, place Wellington College amongst the highest performing co-ed boarding schools in the UK and I could not be prouder of the achievements of this superb cohort of young graduates. Most of them began their Wellington journeys in the middle of a pandemic but, over the past five years, they have achieved unprecedented success in national sports competitions, produced music, drama, art and dance of the highest quality, with no fewer than seventeen of them heading off to the most competitive Drama and Art Schools in the land and, to cap it all, they have now achieved a set of public examination results which ranks among the strongest outcomes any generation of Wellingtonians have ever achieved. And all the while they have also been the most delightful group of young people who have led the Wellington Community with distinction this year. Hats off to the graduating Class of 2025!”
Congratulations to them all, and we wish them the best of fortune as they set out on the next stage of their academic journeys with these excellent results behind them.
