On Thursday 9th October, Wellington College’s Spanish Department took part in the 15th Annual Hispanic Theatre Competition, hosted by North London Collegiate School. The event, now a much-loved highlight of the academic calendar, brought together schools from across the country to celebrate language, culture, and performance.
Our talented students performed Historia de una Escalera by Antonio Buero Vallejo — a compelling Spanish social realist play that explores the struggles and dreams of working-class families across generations. Under the direction of Barney V, the cast, including Talitha G, Tallulah A, Isabel S, Alexa H, Izzy A, and Cara V, delivered a moving and engaging performance.
The evening was filled with uplifting and enthusiastic performances, and Wellington’s students represented the College beautifully. A special congratulations goes to Isabel S, who was awarded the Best Spoken Spanish prize — a fantastic achievement and thoroughly well deserved.
An inspiring celebration of creativity, collaboration, and linguistic talent — ¡enhorabuena a todos!
