Wellington College is delighted to congratulate the 35 pupils who have been awarded Academic Colours, recognising their exceptional success in achieving at least nine grade 9s at GCSE.
Academic Colours represent one of the College’s highest academic accolades, celebrating the pursuit of excellence across disciplines. The award acknowledges pupils who have embraced challenge, shown intellectual curiosity and demonstrated the habits of scholarship that Wellington seeks to foster in every learner.
Many of these pupils are already Academic Scholars, but those who are not are invited to join the Upper School Scholars’ Programme on an invitational basis. Here, they will continue to explore stimulating ideas across the sciences, arts and humanities. This year’s theme – Being Human in an Age of AI – will encourage students to reflect deeply on some of the most pressing questions of our time, from the ethics of artificial intelligence to the meaning of human flourishing in an interconnected world.
Dr Nancy Cho, Head of Upper School Scholars and Mrs Amanda Campion, Director of Academic Extension, praised the award winners:
“These students have demonstrated not only outstanding academic achievement but also the habits of mind that define true scholars – curiosity, creativity and the courage to engage in challenging ideas. We look forward to seeing them continue to thrive as they take advantage of the many opportunities within the Scholars’ Programme and beyond.”
The award of Academic Colours is both a celebration of past success and an invitation to embrace future opportunity. We congratulate each of the 35 pupils for this outstanding recognition and look forward to all they will contribute to the academic life of the College in the years ahead.
