Thank you to everyone who joined Sir Anthony Seldon for our London WWI & WWII Memorials Walking Tour on Sunday. Blessed with beautiful sunshine, members of the Wellington community enjoyed a fascinating journey through some of London’s most significant memorials and historic sites, including the Animals in War Memorial, Wellington Arch and The Cenotaph.
Sir Anthony’s expert insights brought history vividly to life, creating a memorable morning of reflection, learning and friendship. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come together, with many continuing conversations over lunch overlooking Tower Bridge.
We are especially grateful to Sir Anthony for generously sharing his time, knowledge and passion for history.

The next opportunity to explore history with Sir Anthony will be our Western Front Tour, taking place from 14–16 September 2026.
This immersive three-day journey will explore some of the most significant battlefields and memorials of the First World War, including The Somme, Vimy Ridge and Ypres. Accompanied by Sir Anthony Seldon and expert battlefield guide Clive Harris, participants will visit iconic sites such as the trenches at Beaumont-Hamel, the Thiepval Memorial and the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, while reflecting on the courage, sacrifice and resilience of those who served.
This tour is primarily intended for current and incoming Wellington College parents whose children will be joining the College in September 2026, offering a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow members of the Wellington community.
The tour departs from King’s Cross St Pancras on Monday 14 September (times to be confirmed) and offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Great War in the company of fellow members of the Wellington community.
