Four members of the Orange, Myla, Grace, Laila and Cecilie were invited to support Frimley Park Hospital’s official launch of the Taskmaster Hospital Club, taking part in a series of Taskmaster Education challenges alongside young patients.

The team from the Orange were invited following the fundraising the House carried out in support of the refurbishment of the playroom at the hospital.

The money raised through the annual charity dinner enabled the team at Frimley Park Hospital to give their playroom in the paediatric ward a well-earned makeover. During the visit, members of the hospital play team shared how the playroom is used by children of all ages and the difference the donation has made to the space.

One development is a new initiative from NHS England and Taskmaster Education designed to improve the experiences of young people during hospital stays. Inspired by the Taskmaster show, tasks are set to help build skills and confidence whilst also adding fun and opportunities to connect with others.

Myla, Grace, Laila and Cecilie took part in four challenges alongside patients, joined by Alex Horne, creator of Taskmaster. The session was filmed to create a short feature to be shared across NHS England sites and on social media.

Reflecting on the day, Cecilie (L6th) said: “I really enjoyed the experience of meeting the staff in the children’s ward and hearing about how much the children appreciated the new installations thanks to the money raised in House.”

A second pupil, Laila (L6th), added: “It was great to see what our house donations had done for Frimley’s playroom. With our help, Frimley Hospital was able to provide the children with lots of new toys and activities they could enjoy whilst staying at the hospital.”
