We are so proud to have been awarded the Talk Education award for Bursary Provision.
“Our judges were hugely impressed by Wellington College’s continued push on socially-transformative bursaries, and the school’s ongoing and tireless efforts via the Prince Albert Foundation to open up access to the school to those who might not otherwise be able to consider an independent education.” – Talk Education
The PAF Scholarship programme was established with a clear objective of widening access by offering fully funded (110%) places to young people with talent and ambition whose families simply cannot afford the fees.
Inclusivity and diversity are central themes of our educational philosophy, forming the bedrock of everything we do. Over the years, Wellington has not only inspired the young people who have come here on fully funded places, but also been profoundly inspired by them. By supporting the PAF Scholarship programme, we can collectively create a more inclusive and empowering educational environment that uplifts individuals, strengthens communities and shapes a brighter future for all.
The Head of the Prince Albert Foundation, Sarah Miller, supports the students from the earliest moments of being recommended as a possible scholar, through the transition process leading up to starting at Wellington; then, helps to provide wraparound pastoral care during their time here and keeps in touch at key points post 18 (up to the age of 25) to ensure their successful transition to Higher Education and/or the world of work.
“It has been a joy to see the Prince Albert Foundation become such an important feature of Wellington College, not only through the success of our PAF scholars themselves, but also because of the positive impact they have had on the College as a whole. The Foundation has gone from strength to strength, and we are well on target for 40 fully funded Prince Albert Foundation scholarships by September 2025.” – Sarah Miller, Head of the Prince Albert Foundation
Summer 2023 graduates Eszter Gerezdi (Hg 23) and Space Clottey (M 23) both former pupils of the Cumberland School in Newham East London, were awarded the Prince Albert Foundation scholarship in 2021 – a fully-funded scholarship, for families who would not normally consider or be able to access independent education. Eszter and Space celebrated fantastic outcomes in their A Levels and more about these results and their experiences at Wellington can be found HERE.
