The Wellington community came together once again for the annual fun run in aid of the Jimmy Higham Scholarship Fund, a relaxed multi-terrain 5K for pupils, staff and parents. Taking place on a mild autumn afternoon, the event captured the spirit of Wellington at its best: friendly competition, encouragement and plenty of smiles along the route.
Runners of all abilities took part, with many embracing the “race with soul” theme and donning fancy dress for the occasion. The event continues to celebrate the life of Jimmy Higham, a much-loved Wellington teacher and coach remembered for his energy, kindness and enthusiasm.
This year’s field produced some impressive performances. Stuart B set an outstanding pace to take the Parent Men’s title in 15:22, while Edward C led the Intermediate Men with an equally impressive 16:02 and Tilly D-D crossed the line first for the women with an impressive 18:40 in the Junior category!
A huge congratulations to all the runners who took part.
The full set of results will be shared after half-term.
